Some highlights of the first real patch for Spore that is now available for download on the PC are graphical improvements, added difficulty to the earlier stages, 70 new planet scripts, and my personal favorite: less attacks on your planet in easy mode during space stage! There are plenty of other new features, and if you want to see the whole list it is included after the jump.
Free game must play: Fantastic Contraption
Any phan of Physics should feel an unnatural gravitation towards this game. The objective of fantastic contraption is to move the pink ball/s to the target area from the start point using a combination of rods and wheels. There are different materials, and the game does all of the physics calculations behind the scenes so that everything feels realistic. Did I mention it was free to play? I’ll put the link right here.
Fallout 3 Website Updated

If you are as excited as I am for Fallout 3 then you will be glad to take in any tidbit of info you can find on the upcoming game. If you are 17 or over, at prepareforthefuture.com you are greeted with an old-fashioned tv with multiple channels to pick from. Depending on which channel you pick, you will see a different video describing something about Fallout. The best part is when the video is done you are able to click it and get some kind of interaction or gameplay footage so check it out!
Fracture Demo: Download it With your Entrencher

I am conflicted with the Fracture demo, because it is very much a small step in its third person space marine genre. As a result many of the elements feel ripped from other games, whether it is the armor, the drop-ships (I swear I have seen them before in crysis/halo and a few other games), or even the main weapon which looks suspiciously like a lancer. Even the art style could be called gears of Mass Effect, yet this is nothing to sneeze at because the visuals are top-notch and unlike Mass Effect and Gears it does not suffer from slowdown or texture pop-ins. Actually the visuals are very commendable, the game runs smoothly and looks great doing it. (more…)
Mercenaries 2 demo finally on XBLM [update]

I have been waiting for this ever since it was announced last friday, the Mercenaries 2: World in Flames demo is finally up on the Marketplace. It is 1.22gb of explosions, crappy textures, and surprisingly a whole lot of fun. I don’t see myself making the 60 dollar commitment, but who knows, maybe you will like it. Give this one a download!
[update] See where I said this game was fun? After playing through the demo again I ran into over five glitches that culminated in my 360 freezing up. My avatar would randomly fidget and shoot at the ground, things got stuck where they shouldn’t be, I am aggrivated by the character’s voice that sounds like a Norwegian version of Haggard from Battlefield: Bad Company minus the genuine comedy, and the destruction just doesn’t work how I would have hoped. Oh and the AI is horrific. That being said stuff does look really pretty when it blows up. So yea, about me saying it was fun, for some reason I still think its okay.
New Xbox Experience Not coming on 25th

Major Nelson, in his most recent podcast (episode 292), stated that the arrival date of the New Xbox Experience is “not the 25th of September” a joke was then cracked regarding the relaunch rumor about it being free pony day. Darn it Microsoft, we want that free pony! Major Nelson and his co-host pretty much shut down the amazing relaunch rumor, and insinuated that it may be around six weeks from now until we see the update.
Disaster: Day of Crisis gameplay, Wii game ftw?
Wiide eyga hayu, dun nu dun nu dunnuna na nanu nana duna duna daaaaaaaaa, disesta, bum! Get ready to hear that alot, the footage is worth the annoying repetition. Many wii gamers are excited for Disaster: day of crisis, and after seeing this gameplay I can understand the hype now. It looks like a decent game that is also coming out on the wii, although there is no news on a North American launch date, I expect Nintendo may want to squeeze this one out before Christmas.
